The city posted this announcement today:
Save the date for the Community Shred Day on Saturday, April 18, hosted by the City of Casa Grande Youth Commission and First American Credit Union.
This popular shredding event is open to the public and there is no charge to shred and recycle up to five boxes of material. A donation to the Youth Commission is encouraged for those with more than five boxes.
The event will be held at First American Credit Union, 1001 N. Pinal Ave. from 9 a.m.-noon.
In addition to shredding services, the Casa Grande Sanitation Division will also be hosting an E-cycle event on-site to recycle old and unwanted electronics. Acceptable items include computer monitors, keyboards, televisions, cameras, phones, and household batteries.
For more than 11 years, Harold Kitching reported on city government for the Casa Grande Dispatch newspaper before resigning in January 2013 after being told that kind of work was no longer wanted. He continues that type of reporting on this private website.
