(Posted by city, May 6, 2020) Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland issued this announcement today: The Proclamation to begin opening parts of the City was signed today. Here is the meat of the Proclamation: 1. The City of Casa Grande will begin a return to service beginning May 8th, 2020, and the City Manager, in consultation with the Mayor, is authorized to prepare a return to service plan to reopen City facilities as appropriate and subject to a reasonable belief that the reopening can be done in compliance with the Executive Orders of Governor Ducey and appropriate guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other applicable health agencies. 2. The City of Casa Grande will demonstrate its resiliency and continue to protect itself by asking all of the businesses and residents of the City to adhere to the following principles of the “Come Back S.M.A.R.T. CG” program, which asks that all persons” - “S” for Shield your cough and sneeze - “M” for Mask up when in public - “A” for stay Apart 6 feet - “R” for Rinse and wash hands for 20 seconds - “T” for Tidy your space with disinfectant/hand sanitizer 3. As part of the return to service plan and “Come Back S.M.A.R.T. CG” program, the City will seek to open certain park amenities as listed below. These openings shall require that residents continue to adhere to the appropriate guidance of the CDC for physical distancing, limit gatherings (currently no more than 10 persons) and comply with any additional restrictions or signage to ensure that use is safe and healthy. - Friday, May 8, 2020 o Dog Park o Gun Range (no organized or reserved events) o North Mountain Park (Hiking only. Ramadas will remain closed) - Monday, May 11, 2020 o Pickleball and Tennis Courts (courts will be open only for general play; no tournaments or events will be scheduled) - Saturday, May 16, 2020 o Basketball Courts and Volleyball Courts (courts will be open only for general play; no tournaments or events will be scheduled) 4. Pending additional guidance from the CDC and Governor Ducey, the following facilities are expected to remain closed until such time as appropriate plans are in place to ensure that their use is as safe and healthy as reasonably possible. The City Manager, in consultation with the Mayor, shall periodically evaluate the feasibility of opening these facilities and may do so when practicable, including the adoption of any restrictions on use deemed necessary or appropriate in accordance with appropriate guidance and good public management standards. - Park Ramadas - Park Restrooms - Playground Equipment - Splash pad at Carr McNatt Park - Aquatic Center - Recreation Center - City Libraries
